Ronald E. Hartman's Obituary
Ronald Earl Hartman, age 87, of Tavares, FL died Saturday, November 16, 2013. He was born September 6, 1926 in West Unity, OH and graduated from West Unity High School in 1945. After graduation he began employment at Lindsay Automotive. On June 1, 1946, he married Marcene Blakely. Together they enjoyed 63 years of marriage and four loving children. They owned Sinclair Service Station, The Hartman Boat and Motor Sales, the Shell station in Montpelier, OH, Palace Bowling Lanes in Bryan, OH and Topline Building Company, also in Bryan. Ronald and Marcene moved to Naples, FL in 1978 where they managed the Vanderbilt Condos. In 1988, they settled in Lake County and began the real estate company known as Hartman Properties, Inc. in Astatula, FL. A devoted husband and father, Ronald enjoyed traveling, collecting pocket watches, playing cards, selling real estate and most of all, being with his family. Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Marcene, his son, Michael and his daughter, Pamela Sheets. He is survived by his sons, Ronald (Sue) Hartman of Howey-in-the-Hills, FL and James (Donna) Hartman of Santa Barbara, CA; grandchildren, Troy, Tab, Tricia, Elizabeth, Adam, Zachary, Kelsey and Ashley; great grandchildren, Kourtney, Garrett, Hayley and Gavin; great great grandson, Mason; one brother and one sister. Ronald will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, November 23 from 10:00 – 11:00 am with a funeral ceremony starting at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Taylor Memorial Cemetery in Howey-in-the-Hills. Condolences, memories, photos and videos may be shared on the tribute wall.
