Roland J. Bolduc's Obituary
Roland J. Bolduc, age 87, of Tavares, FL passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2011 after a long illness. He was born in Winslow, ME. He moved to FL in 1977 after operating Bolduc’s Superette in Oakland, ME for many years. After moving to FL he owned and operated the Vertical Blind Factory in Tavares. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the European Theater and took part in the landing on Normandy Beach. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mt. Dora for many years where he was a Lector and Cantor. He will be missed by his Bible Club friends. He loved playing golf, watching hockey, especially the Boston Bruins, and playing 13 on Thursday evenings with his friends. Roland and Bertha enjoyed their retirement years at their summer home in NC, where he loved to play golf and entertain their family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Bertha (Veilleux); children, Bruce Bolduc, Sandra Clark, Janice Bolduc, and Paul Bolduc; brother, Richard Bolduc; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Fern Labbe and Jean Gallant. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 9:00AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mt. Dora. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, FL 32778 or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
