Rodney John LeRoy Kerridge's Obituary
Rodney Kerridge passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife Gail, brother Jeff, son Bradley, daughter Elizabeth, son-in-law John, and daughter-in-law Christine.
Brown in Fulham, London, England, Rod’s family emigrated to the United States in 1952 where Rod initially attended Rodeo School in Beverly Hills and lived on the property of Academy Award winning actor Edmund Gwenn (Miracle on 34th Street).
He initially grew up in the Los Angeles area, and then during his junior high years settled into a relaxed California lifestyle in San Diego. He was an avid surfer, golfer and cyclist.
After graduating from Hover High School, Rod enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged after four years of service.
Rod received an Associates Degree in Digital Electronics, with Honors, from San Diego Evening College. Throughout his working life his interest in computers served him well. At AT&T Rod worked on many cutting-edge systems i.e. 4ESS, TSPS, and #2SCCS. Additionally, he was part of the AT&T 1983 divestiture team and the 1990’s transition team taking AT&T from a regulated to a non-regulated business environment.
Rod retired form AT&T in 1998 and went on to work at Telcordia, AT&T Bell Laboratories, Lumeta, Kennedy Space Center, and Disney.
His marriage in 1971 brought into this world daughter Elizabeth and son Bradley. He was very proud of his childrens’ achievements. They moved in New Jersey in 1983. Divorce proceeding commenced in 1990. In 1993, Rod became active in the Elks and achieved the position of Exalted Ruler. He was awarded Elk of the Year, started an entertainment company, was a licensed Realtor, and kept his day job.
In 1990 he met Barbara. They were married in 1993 and enjoyed a fabulous life together. They worked together and participated in varied business and social interests. They traveled, loved, laughed, sang and danced throughout their marriage. In 2006, they dropped everything and moved to Florida and cultivated many friends in their community and in Key West. Barbara passed away in early 2016.
Rod met Gail at the end of 2016, and they celebrated their marriage with a Key West Steam Punk wedding in 2018. They loved, laughed, sang and danced throughout their marriage and took their loving relationship to a whole new level. Theirs was a marriage for the ages.
Rod wanted everyone to take time to love, laugh, sing and dance while and when they can.
