Robert Earl Wentz's Obituary
Robert Earl Wentz, 90 of Tavares Florida, passed away July 9, 2019 at the AdventHealth Waterman Hospital in Tavares, Florida. He was an Administrative Services Supervisor, with EG&G Florida Inc., at the Kennedy Space Center, where he worked for 36 years, retiring in 1993.
Born in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Roy and Sarah Wentz, with whom he was employed at Wentz’s Furniture Store, along with his two brothers. He was a 1946 graduate of Gettysburg High School.
Robert and his family moved to Melbourne, Florida in 1956. He and his wife, Betty then moved to Tavares, Florida in 1994 after retirement.
He was a Lutheran and a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge #336, Royal Arch Chapter #266 and Knights Templar Commandry #79, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; a Charter Member of Azan Temple in Melbourne, Florida.
Robert is survived by his wife of 66 Years, Betty (Miller) Wentz, Eustis, Florida; two daughters: Susan Wentz of Minneola, Florida and Lynn (Wentz) Reichert of Hampton, Virginia and late husband Rodney; son David Wentz and wife Paula of Winder, Georgia and their daughter Jenn Wagner of Atlanta, Georgia; two grandchildren: Matthew Reichert and wife Donna of Hampton Virginia; Brett Wentz of Palm Bay, Florida; two great grandchildren: Wyatt Reichert and Owen Reichert of Hampton, Virginia. He was predeceased by two brothers: Harold Wentz of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania and Wayne Wentz of Melbourne, Florida.
Visitation will be held at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, 226 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, Florida from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019. Graveside services will follow at 12 noon at the Tavares Cemetery, 2055 Dead
River Road, Tavares, FL.
