Robert Joseph Sturm's Obituary
On May 2, 1931, a candle was lit for Robert "Bob" Joseph Sturm and it burned brightly for exactly 91 years.
Robert was born in Philadelphia, PA to Henry and Catherine Sturm. Bob grew up in a German-Polish Catholic community in Bridesburg, PA, graduating from St. Joe's College in Philadelphia, PA. He spent his professional life handling "one third of the world" as VP for Honeywell Customer Service. By the time a problem got to him, factories or industrial complexes had come to a stop. Bob was a true problem solver.
Bob spent his free time playing jazz saxophone alongside some of the greats, like Cannonball Aterly. He also played the clarinet and piano and had his own band for years. When he was a teenager, he was on TV and won a Ted Mack Award.
Bob graduated from St. Joseph's College in Philadelphia, PA.
Survivors include his only daughter, Susan Menand (Nick) of Apopka, his life partner, May Cerullo, his only grandson Patrick Menand and countless friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 11:00AM at Steverson Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Home in Tavares, FL, with a gathering of friends and family from 10:00-11:00AM. Online condolences can be left at www.steversonhamlinhilbish.com
