Robert "Steve" Stephens Pearson's Obituary
Robert "Steve" Pearson, age 79, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 18th, 2025 at his home in Mount Dora, FL. He was born May 8th, 1946 in Louisville, KY. to Robert W. Pearson and Emogene S. Pearson. Steve is survived and missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Debbie; his daughter Sara Dennis and his son Robert Alan Pearson (Molly) of Nashville. Steve is also cherished and remembered by his 4 grandchildren Trent (Diana), Ryder and Maci Dennis and Wesley Robert Pearson; his great grandson Kermit Wray Dennis; and his loving niece, Becca Watson. Steve was an amazing man who was dedicated to his family. Raised on a farm in Adairville, Kentucky, he attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee and moved to Florida in 1979. He will always be remembered for his quick whitted jokes and jovial personality, as well as his love for corvettes, boats, and motorcycles. He was committed to a life of serving God and the church. As a member of The American Legion post 277 in Boca Raton, FL. he rode with the legion riders and served as post chaplain for a number of years. He also volunteered with Boca Helping Hands after he retired.
A service celebrating his life will be held at First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora in Mount Dora, FL on Saturday January 17th, 2026 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Vitas Healthcare.
