Robert Edward Sackett's Obituary
Robert Edward Sackett of Leesburg, Florida passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the age of 75 years. He was born in Johnson City, New York. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. Robert retired from Fleet Bank as head of buildings and grounds. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the AmVets, the VFW and was the former Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge. Robert was involved in many organizations and always dedicated himself to become a leader within them. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the clubs. He also enjoyed camping and was a big NASCAR fan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole in May 2013. He is remembered and will be missed by his sons; Robert E. Sackett, Jr. of Port St. Lucie, FL, Roger E. Sackett of Port St. Lucie and Russell E. Sackett and his wife, Diane of East Providence, RI; 2 grandchildren, Michael Russell Sackett and Katie Sackett, both of East Providence; step-son, Michael Heatherton of California; step-daughters, Debbie Desisto of Warren, RI and Chris of Barrington, RI. Robert will be placed in his final resting place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
