Robert Jarvis' Obituary
Robert Lynn Jarvis “Bob”, age 63, of Leesburg, FL and formerly of Troy, NY, stepped into eternity to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 2, 2010. He was born in Troy, New York on August 18, 1947 to the late Robert and Carmen (Drouin) Jarvis. He graduated Tamarac High School in 1965 and went to Hudson Valley Community College. He worked 36 years at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna, NY as a Metalography Test Specialist and retired in 2004. Bob was a licensed Pastor in New York State, a member of Grafton Baptist Church, and a part-time Chaplain at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Bob loved Jesus, his wife, friends and family. Early into his retirement in Leesburg, FL he took a job at Lake Square Mall in guest services and recently as a Security Guard at the mall before his sickness caused him to resign. He enjoyed golf, gun & archery sports, NASCAR racing and “people watching”. He had previously been an assistant coach for Pop Warner football and a Karate Instructor. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Theresa Williams Jarvis of Leesburg, FL and formerly of Troy, NY; brother, Michael (Colleen) Jarvis of Troy, NY; two nephews; a niece, and a great nephew all of NY state; step-daughter, Delisa Steinbrock and her three daughters of Kansas. Bob was an amazing man and husband. He was selfless, gentle, kind, and humorous touching other people’s lives in a positive way. He will be missed dearly by many. A Memorial Service was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Lakes of Leesburg Clubhouse with Pastor Tim Jensen officiating.
