Robert Cook's Obituary
Robert Cook, age 85, of Tavares passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014. He was born August 21, 1928 in Washington, D.C. and moved to Florida in 1953 and to Tavares in 1960. He retired from Proctor & Gamble after a career in citrus processing. He was an elder in First Presbyterian Church, Eustis, a charter member of the Tavares Rotary Club, and an emeritus member of the Institute of Food Technologist. He was a board member of Lake County Historical Society and Florida Historical Society, and a member of Florida Native Plant Society. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Jones Cook of Tavares, FL; sons, Steven R. (Delores) of Miami, FL, Kenneth E. (Dawn) of Orlando, FL, James K. of Tavares, FL, Thomas R. (Britton) of Swarthmore, PA, and David R. (Carla) of Tavares, FL; grandchildren, Laura, Timothy, Jennifer, Benjamin, Parker, Michael, Christian, William, and Candy; great-grandchildren, Caden, Juliette, and Madeline. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 11:00AM at the First Presbyterian Church, Eustis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, FL 32778.
