Robert L. Barr's Obituary
EUSTIS, Robert Lewis (Bob) Barr, 88, of Eustis, Florida, formerly of Roulette, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on March 9, 2025 with his family by his side.
Bob was born on May 16, 1936 to Elvin and Frieda (Lewis) Barr. He married Patricia Helen Kudlock on June 8, 1957. Bob enjoyed cooking and baking for his family, doing crossword puzzles and reading on his Kindle. Bob was a very loving, caring and giving person who will be missed by all who knew him. Bob graduated from Roulette High School in 1954 and joined the US Navy in August 1954 where he became a radarman. Bob was very proud of his naval service and always said the Navy did more for him, than he did for the Navy. He worked for Pierce Glass/St. Gobain Company for 40+ years starting in the maintenance department where he spent 4 years and then he became a mold maker in the Mold Shop until his retirement. In 1970, Bob and Pat bought the Friendly Inn in Roulette, PA which they owned until 1981. Many good times and special occasions were celebrated at the Friendly with numerous family members and good friends. Bob was a former Fire Chief and lifetime member of the Roulette Fire Department. He was a member of the American Legion in Port Allegany, PA and the AMVETS Post 1992 in Mount Dora, FL. Surviving are his three children, Sharon L. Barr and Brenda J. Barr of Eustis, FL and Michael R. Barr of Pagosa Springs, CO. Two grandchildren, Ashley (Caleb) Kilgore and TJ Costa, two brothers, James (Joy) Barr and Paul (Evelyn) Barr, and several nieces and nephews along with many close friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia and sister Barbara McDowell. A Celebration of Life will be held at the family's convenience.
