Rita Pearl Denniston's Obituary
On Saturday, February 16, 2019 Rita P. Denniston a loving wife and mother to four, grandmother to nine, greatgrandmother to thirteen, and great-greatgrandmother to one, sadly passed away at age 85.
Born and raised in Lockport, NY to Orville and Rita Pencille. She was employed at the GM Harrison Radiator Plant for over 27 yrs. Retiring in 1989 and moving to Tavares, Fl.
She was a member of the UAW #686 and longtime member of the Moose, past member of the Eagles, Lions, and Redman Club of NY. She was a faithful donor to the Shiners Hospital, MooseHeart, St. Judes Children Hospital, Salvation Army, Red Cross, and her favorite the Orlando Mission.
Rita was the Matriarch of the family. She helped daughter Barbara raise her children, Brian and Lisa. She was generous to a fault and loved all her family beyond compare. She was looking forward to traveling back to NY this spring to meet her first great great grandson. Rhys Kade was born less than 35 hrs. before she passed on. Thanks to technology she saw him and spoke his name. She was thrilled at the prospect of having five generations together and visiting with her NY friends and family.
She is survived by her adoring husband, Thomas E. Denniston Sr. You would often hear her calling him her Lover. They were inseperatable and truly were each others best friend. They worked at the same factory working side by side for the last 9 yrs. They created a wonderful life enjoying their summer cottage, traveling, playing bingo and cards. They took 19 Carnival Cruises, onboard they renewed their 60th wedding vows with all their children in attendance. They were married for 68 yrs on January 27th.
They suffered the loss of infant son, Glenn in 1959 and a daughter Rosemarie age 16 to an aggressive form of cancer in 1972.
