Richard H. Wehunt's Obituary
Richard H. Wehunt of Tiki Village in Tavares passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the age of 80 years. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Starling and Alameda Rose (Maddox) Wehunt. Richard was a heavy equipment diesel mechanic for Super Value in Xenia, OH until his retirement. In Ohio, he was a member of the VFW, the Eagles and the American Legion. Richard moved to central Florida in October 2004 from Jamestown, OH, near Dayton. He lived in Mount Dora and Eustis prior to settling in Tavares. He belonged to the Lake County Veteran’s Club, the Am Vets and previously the Eagle here in Lake County as well. He enjoyed going down to the clubs to spend time with his friends, play darts and pool and especially loved to dance. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. He was also predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Mary Louise (Mathews) Wehunt. She passed away on May 31, 2003. Richard is remembered and will be dearly missed by his sons, Arthur Ray Brooks of Akron, OH, Steven B. Wehunt and his wife, Kayette of Troy, OH, Rob Wehunt of Tavares and Edward S. Wehunt and his wife, Tammy of St. Petersburg, FL; two nieces, Cecilia Wehunt of Hurt, VA and Sherry Dodd of Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and several other nieces and nephews. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
