I worked with Rick on the final construction and opening of the “new” Summit County Jail in the early 1990’s. I always appreciated his intelligence, skill, respectfulness and ability to see all sides of a problem. But my best memory of him was when he agreed to referee to pick up basketball games after work.
I am so very sad to hear of Rick's passing. When I worked at the Summit County Sheriff's Office I was fortunate to have worked very closely with Rick during the construction of the current Summit County Jail (1989-90). Rick is one of the brightest, funniest, and kindest people I've had the privilege of working with. He will always have a very special place in my heart.
