Richard R. Petitt Jr.'s Obituary
Richard R. Petitt, Jr., age 58, of Mount Dora passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. He was born March 20, 1956 in Tucson, AZ and moved to Lake County in 1989 from VA. He was a retired Human Resource Manager with the City of Lake Mary and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mt. Dora. He was a graduate from Loyola University of the South, New Orleans and received his Master’s degree from Oklahoma City University. He was a member of Alpha Delta Gamma fraternity, a past member of DeMolay, and a former board member of the Girl Scout Counsel. He loved reading and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Petitt of Mt. Dora, FL; daughter, Jennifer C. Pettit of Mt. Dora, FL; sister, Rae Hickey of North Kingstown, RI; and his beloved pets. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 9:00AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mt. Dora. Inurnment will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 E.
