Richard Allen Oberholtzer's Obituary
Richard A. Oberholtzer, 81, of Tavares, FL passed away peacefully on July 25, 2020. A native Floridian, he was born on February 22, 1939 in Yalaha, FL to Charles Oberholtzer and Claudia Oberholtzer Smith. He graduated from Leesburg High School in 1957. Richard then attended Auburn University before serving in the United States Army. Richard was then employed by Florida Telephone Corporation, currently known as Sprint, which he retired from after 30 years of service. He had many interests in life, some of which were hot rods, motorcycles, wood working, metal working, and his pride and joy were his daughter and grandchildren. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Pat (Christmas) Oberholtzer; his daughter, Kelli Hill (Tony) of Howey In The Hills; sister, Barbara Goolsby (Don) of Lady Lake; grandchildren, T.J. Hill, Austin Hill, Jake Hill and Kierra Hill. He is predeceased by his grandson, Joshua Hill. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 9:00AM until 11:00AM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:00AM. Interment will take place at Tavares Cemetery.
