Richard Wyatt Moody's Obituary
Richard Wyatt Moody
1966-2015
Wyatt passed away in his sleep on June 18, 2015 at the age of 49. He was experiencing the happiest times of his life.
Wyatt was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Lee Moody of Maryland.
Wyatt is survived by his parents, Dick & Kathleen Moody of Key West, his daughter Jessica Claire Moody of Clermont, Wyatt’s fiancé, Christine Beard MacLean and her 3 children Allison, Caroline and Cameron of Tavares, Christine’s parents, Carl (Donna) Beard of Tavares, sister Kim (John) Lord of Maryland, niece April Moody of Maryland, nephews Ryan and Cody Crouse of Maryland and many other relatives.
Wyatt’s 3 careers spanned thirty-three years. After graduation from Lyman High School in Longwood, Florida, he worked in his parents Art Systems of Florida as a driver, salesman and manager. He continued with Art Systems when it was sold for four more years.
He traveled the entire State of Florida as a key sales rep for the national wholesale art supplier SLS Arts of New Orleans, Louisiana for 17 years.
Wyatt poured his heart into a major remodeling of the beautiful lake front home of his fiancé Christine to accommodate their blended family. His love of home improvement projects contributed to his ability to transform his vision into an ideal place for their family. Wyatt and Christine looked forward to evenings on the boat, moonlit rides on the golf cart and spending time with their family.
His most recent challenge was to promote national recognition of a new product, EARASERS Musicians Hi-Fi Earplugs. Wyatt traveled the country as a representative for the company, which provides ear protection for musicians, motorcyclists, police and anyone in an intense noisy environment.
Wyatt had a passion for cooking and entertaining. His skill at grilling, smoking meats and deep frying turkeys was enjoyed by his family and friends. Everyone loved to surround him in the kitchen especially while cooking with “Grandma Kat”.
Boating on Lake Dora provided Wyatt the excitement of skiing, tubing, bird watching and just cruising with family and friends. He even enjoyed working on the boat and always had it ready to go on a moment’s notice.
Wyatt also loved music, whether it was listening to his 70’s music, playing Saxophone like his Dad, or encouraging Jessica to play alto sax, baritone sax, trombone, trap drums, Fender guitar and anything she could play a tune on. He cheered on all of the kids at their music and sporting events.
Wyatt leaves many, many friends in Maryland, Mississippi, Tennessee and throughout Florida. All will miss his sense of humor, infectious laugh, his constant smile, and the way he put the needs of others before his own. The big guy will be missed by more friends than any one person deserves to have – except Wyatt. He earned them all, one at a time. He will truly be missed by all of them.
