Richard Harvey Homelius' Obituary
It is with deep sadness that the family of Richard Harvey Homelius announce his passing. Richard was born on November 8,1952 in Eustis, Florida. The son of Harvey C. Homelius and Betty (Patton) Homelius. Richard passed away peacefully at the Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont Florida on July 2, 2025.
Richard spent his life driving 18 wheelers across the United States. Richard started driving soon after turning 16 and fell in love with the freedom behind the wheel. Richard was most at home driving, having nothing but open road ahead of him.
Richard is survived by his two sons Christopher E. Homelius, Richard C. Homelius, his former wife Karen E. Kulhanek, and their daughters Tabatha E. (Homelius) Rinck, and Susan M. (Homelius) Virgili. Richard was “Papaw” to ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Richard is also survived by his Nephew Dwain C. Hinman, and niece Heather Hinman. Richard is survived and preceded in death by many close and special friends and fellow drivers.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Betty Homelius, former wife Geraldine (Loesch) Homelius, brother Michael Homelius, and sister Katherine (Cindy) Homelius.
The family is planning a private memorial service at a later date.
Richard may be gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
