Richard R. Burke, Jr., age 93, of Leesburg passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013. He was born February 21, 1920 in Cadillac, MI. He was a retired electrician and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in WWII. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Leesburg. He is survived by his sons, R. Russell Burke of Dundee, MI, Patrick Burke of Leesburg, FL, Gerald Burke of Azalia, MI; sister, Joanne Shied of Nashville, TN; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 30, 2013 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 8:30AM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Leesburg. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, FL 32778. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL 32778, (352)343-4444. Online condolences may be left on the Tribute Wall.
