Reginald Jesse "Reg" Burleigh's Obituary
Reginald Jesse Burleigh, 84, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014. The son of Wm. Forest Burleigh, DVM and Mildred Crouch, he was born October 22, 1929 in Utica, New York. He married his high school sweetheart Elizabeth (Betty) Malhenzie on March 10, 1950. He worked as highway superintendent of road construction and was a member of the I.U.O.E. also Oriskany Falls, New York Rotary and Oriskany Falls Methodist Church.
He loved his family and spent many hours teaching friends of his children to water ski on the lake where the Burleigh cabin was located. In the winter he would make an ice skating rink for the village children in the Village Park.
In his retirement years he spent afternoons at the Tavares Recreation Park on Lake Eustis watching the boats and fisherman and visiting with his cronies who came to the park.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty; 5 sons, Rick (Pat), Rod (Melanie) of O. Falls, New York, Randy (Marsha) of E. Freetown, New York, Lance (Sheryl) of Mt. Plymouth, Florida and Mitch (friend Beth) of Bassville Park, Florida; and one daughter, Lisa Kimbrel of Tavares, FL; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
