Raymond Theodore "Ray" Wojtowicz's Obituary
Raymond "Ray" Theodore Wojtowicz, 71, passed away on September 14, 2025, in Tavares, Florida, after a long and courageous battle with the damage left to his body from cancer treatment. He was born in Hamtramck, Michigan, on September 15, 1953, and was a resident of Port Austin, Michigan.
Ray graduated from St. Florian High School in 1971 and from United Electronics Institute in 1973. He dedicated his professional life to his work as an Electronic Technician, retiring from Chrysler Corporation after 35 years of service.
He was the beloved son of the late Raymond W. and Marie Wojtowicz.
He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle; his children, Theresa (Ben) Gravlin, Patricia Wojtowicz, and Christina Wojtowicz; and his cherished grandchildren, Jack Raymond and August Theodore. He also leaves behind his sisters, Ruth (Ken) Kondrat, Patricia Kiraga, and Lisa (Chris) Rewald; his mother-in-law, Nancy Kijek (Dwight Draper); his brother-in-law, Jason Kijek; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his sisters Deb (Carl) Nevinski and Linda Showalter.
Ray had a deep love for the outdoors and his favorite pastimes reflected this. He could often be found manning the barbecue for family and friends, patiently casting a line while fishing, or enjoying a round on the golf course. A passionate sports fan, he was a loyal supporter of the University of Michigan. He also cherished his winters in Florida and, above all, treasured the time he spent with his family.
In accordance with his wishes, Ray has been cremated, and no public service will be held. His wish was for everyone to "remember him in their heart" rather than to mourn his passing with a funeral or celebration of life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
