Ray J. Spradlin's Obituary
Ray J. Spradlin, age 81, of Mt. Dora, FL passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016. He was born October 25, 1935 in Betsy Layne, KY. He graduated high school in Waverly, OH. Ray worked as Lock Tender at Apopka Lock & Dam for 29 years before retiring in 1997. Ray was a hard worker. In fact, he never had hobbies unless it involved working. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Wanda Waldron Spradlin of Mt. Dora, FL; daughter, Lori Ann Spradlin Hand of Winter Garden, FL; son, Michael Ray Spradlin of Mt. Dora, FL; brother, Richard Thomas Spradlin, Sr. and his wife, Bonnie Spradlin; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Wesley Spradlin and Nora Hamilton Spradlin. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 5:30PM until 8:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 1:00PM at Evergreen Cemetery, Okeechobee, FL.
