Randall William Cox, “Randy,” of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2021 in Eustis, Florida.
Randy was born in Eustis, Florida, on December 15, 1944. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman Cox and Vivian Abigail Cox and survived by his wife Carolyn Spadafora Cox and children, Randi Sue Huchingson, Roger William Cox, John Randall Cox, Anthony James Cox, Rebecca Lynne Cox, Nicole Lee Cox, Nadia Rose Cox and siblings Kenneth Cox, Carolyn
Hunter, Marilyn Skulstad. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren.
He graduated from Mount Dora High School in 1963. He received a bachelor's degree in biology from Georgetown College (KY) and a master’s degree in botany from University of Kentucky. Randy had a long career in the citrus industry. Many knew him to be an especially kind and highly respected high school basketball official.
He was known for many skills and interests. He maintained beautiful yards at their family homes in Umatilla, Tavares, and Mount Dora. He was a sportsman who enjoyed golf, tennis, fishing, and cheering for the Orlando Magic and Kentucky Wildcats. He loved the board game Acquire, which he called “The Greatest Game Ever Invented.” He will be remembered for his cooking, which included specialties like nut rolls, greens, country fried steak and many more. He had many notable personal traits: great smile, tremendous sense of humor, strong work ethic, honesty, trustworthiness, graciousness, and a peaceful heart. Most of all, he will be
