Sgt. Ralph L. Kirby's Obituary
Sgt. Ralph L. Kirby, age 70, of Leesburg, FL passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015. He was born August 7, 1945 in Belmont, NC. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, having served with the 9th Infantry in Vietnam, where he was injured in combat and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He is survived by his wife, Ruth A. Kirby of Leesburg, FL; children, Patrick Kirby of Tylertown, MS, Cynthia Bailey of San Diego, CA, Elizabeth Kirk of Stanley, NC, Matthew Kirby of Knoxville, TN, James Wiggins of Bingham, AL, Mitchel Wiggins of Myrtle Beach, SC; siblings, Helen Brock of Mt. Holly, NC and Jimmile Gaye Weaver of Mt. Holly, NC; many grandchildren; and many step-children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Zoe Kirby; and a twin brother, Fred Kirby, Jr. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 2:00PM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
