Ralph Edward Heil's Obituary
Ralph Heil, age 86, of Tavares, FL passed away on October 18, 2024. He was born July 17, 1938 in Columbus, OH to John and Ella Shope. His four siblings, Dora Ward, Howard Heil, Jack Heil and Martha Lee Robb all preceded him in death. He married Beverly Greenwood on June 20, 1958. He worked in the printing industry all his life, even in the Army from 1961-63 in the 7th Special Forces Group, stationed at Fort Bragg in NC. He utilized his Army training throughout his life. Ralph and Bev had one son, Kevin. The family moved to southwest Indiana in 1978 for his job change to Keller Crescent. With Ralph’s retirement, they moved to Kuttawa, KY and then to Tavares, FL where he lived on the water (which was always his dream) and was able to fish as much as he could. He enjoyed fishing and boating all his life (including building a 12 ft boat in a second story apartment which he took out through the window), taking his grandkids for boat rides, and collecting old fishing gear and guns.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly. He is survived by his son, Kevin Heil of Tavares, FL; grandchildren, Amy Heil and Matthew Heil of Evansville, IN; four nieces and four nephews of Ohio, Kentucky, and Arizona.
