Ralph J. Barbano, age 96, of Mt. Dora passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020. He was born in San Francisco in 1924. After graduating from High School, he volunteered for the Army. He was assigned to an Armored Infantry Battalion. Read Obituary
I didn’t know Ralph very long, but the short time l knew him, l grew very fond of him & looked forward to visiting with him when l was in Florida. He was such a sweet, kind man. Rheda, Wayne & Valerie, please know that you are in my thoughts & prayers. He will be so sadly missed by all!!

A really good man! As I reflect in the years that I knew him, I just keep coming back to the poem often attributed to the Indian chief Tecumseh, 'Live your life'. In sum: life is what you make it, do good and right...and when you leave it, do so with no regrets. The piece seems a fitting essay on Ralph's life --- Battle of The Bulge, Patriot, public Educator, dedicated Husband and 'me-Paw' [family joke], a Builder, and trusted Friend-Counselor-Humorist to any who rubbed elbows with him. His was a life that should be celebrated, and so I do, with much respect.

Wayne, we were sadden to learn of Ralph’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time.
There are many memories of Ralph that I can share, one being at Christmas when I was around 5 or 6 years old and he made me a crib for my dolls. He loved working in his wood shop in the garage and he taught me how to play Mahjogg which i still love to this day. He was a great man and loved my mom and my Me-Ma so much. He will be missed dearly but he is also reunited with them on the other side.
