Philip A. Lumsden's Obituary
Mr. Philip Lumsden, age 69, of Tavares, passed away on Thursday, March 26th, 2009. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Phil moved to this area from South Carolina 10 years ago. He formerly owned and operated the IGA grocery store that was located in Tavares. He previously owned IGA stores in several states and recently worked at Publix in Tavares. He married his wife of 5 years, Mary Jane, on Valentines Day in 2004. Phil was a member of First United Methodist Church of Tavares, where he taught Sunday School. He is remembered by his wife, Mary Jane and his special friends who he considered his daughter and granddaughter, Kathy Baker and her daughter Ciera. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to the First United Methodist Church of Tavares, 600 W. Ianthe St., Tavares, FL 32778. Visitation will be held Friday, March 27th from 5 - 7 PM. A Funeral Service is scheduled to start at 10 AM on Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, 226 E.
