Pete Heinemeyer's Obituary
Pete Heinemeyer was born in Stanton, North Dakota and was one of 11 children. He grew up in Montana where he started working in a dairy farm until the age of 17, when he joined the navy. He served four years as a Mess Specialist aboard ship in the Pacific on a troop transport. He returned to North Dakota where he married Marge Huber, having five children, four of whom survive him: Rita (husband Steve), Imogene (husband Ken), Kathy (husband Roger), and Monte. Three brothers are still living, Charlie, Stanley and Jim. He also left behind nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, five step children, 11 step grandchildren, 16 step great grandchildren and partner, Theta, of 23 years following the death of his wife, Marge.
He was a Mason for 60 years with Tavares being his home lodge, where he held several offices. Pete owned and managing a lawn mower repair shop in Tavares for many years after his retirement from the steel erection business. Pete was known for his kindness and generosity to others and will be greatly missed.
A memorial ceremony will be held on Friday, April 8 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
