Paul John Wilkinson's Obituary
Paul John Wilkinson 91, of Leesburg, FL went to be with the Lord on April 05, 2016. Paul was born on July 14, 1924 in Jessup, Iowa to the late John and Gertrude Wilkinson. Paul moved to Leesburg, FL in 1989 from Joliet, Illinois with his loving wife Agnes. Paul was a proud member of the United States Army. During his deployment in the Philippines he served as part of the medics. Paul had many stories regarding his time in the service that he enjoyed telling to his family and friends. Paul later became a systems analyst for Caterpillar after he was honorably discharged from the Army and worked for Caterpillar for 31 years. Paul enjoyed playing poker with his friends, and was the Captain of The Coach Wood Colony Pool League in Leesburg, FL. In Paul’s early years he enjoyed woodworking and spending time at his six acer farm house in Independence Iowa where he took pleasure in watching the wild life and working outdoors. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Paul would say that he was a Kind man with a unique sense of humor and was sharp up until his last day. Paul’s poker friends would describe him as a cool poker player who always had a great story to tell. Paul John Wilkinson is survived by his Loving Wife of 66 years: Agnes Anne Wilkinson, of Leesburg, FL; Daughters: Helen Lenore Nesler, of Davenport, IA, Barbara Jeanne (Bill) Harrington, of Maxwell, IA, and Paula Agnes (Mark) Skolds, Of Fruitland Park, FL; Brother: Thomas (Bernadine) Wilkinson, of Cedar Rapids, IA; Sister: Janice Dutoit, Of Tyler, TX; Five Grandchildren; and ten Great-Grandchildren. Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by many.
