Patricia Catherine Augustin's Obituary
Patricia Catherine Augustin nee Brown died peacefully in her home in Mount Dora, Florida on May 31, 2016 after a brief illness with brain cancer. Patricia loved her Lord, her family, her church and her friends. Patricia was born in Manistee, Michigan on July 16, 1928 to Charles and Christine Brown. Patricia was baptized on 9/2/1928 at Trinity Lutheran in Onekama, MI. She was a lifelong Lutheran and member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She belonged and served in various capacities at Faith Lutheran in Whitehall, MI, Our Redeemer Lutheran in Newark, DE and Bethany Lutheran in Leesburg, FL. Recently she has worshipped at the Chapel in Waterman Village, FL. Her mother Christine taught her to sew and quilt. Patricia used her skill to make beautiful clothes and quilts which she shared with family and friends. She also used her talents to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief and many sewn items for many different organizations over the years. She was a member of the Lake County, FL Quilting Group and the quilting groups at Scottish Highlands and Waterman Village. Patricia graduated from the Hackley School of Nursing, Muskegon, MI in 1948. She made lifelong friends at nursing school and they enjoyed annual class reunions. She worked as a registered nurse at the Veterans Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. Patricia is survived by her husband LeRoy after 65 years of marriage. She enjoyed raising her two sons and is the beloved mother of Bruce (Maria) and Mark. She is the beloved grandmother of Alicia Augustin Brown (Louis) and 3 great grandsons. She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Klajda of Onekama, MI, and brother David Brown (Betty) of Richland, MI.
