Odell Durden's Obituary
Odell Durden of Mount Dora, Florida went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the age of 96 years. He was born in Wicksburg, Alabama to Ruben and Erler Durden. Odell worked as a farmer all of his life until his retirement. He farmed on the Alabama – Florida border before moving to central Florida in 1947. He worked in the citrus industry and retired as foreman from a fern nursery. In his younger days he enjoyed going fishing. Odell is a member of the United Faith Assembly of Bassville Park, Leesburg, Florida. Odell was widowed by two wives; Lessie in 1987 and Marie in 2001. He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his daughter, Oneta Gates of Leesburg; his son, Wayne Durden and his wife, Elaine of Bassville Park; brother, Howard Durden and his wife, Melba of Mount Dora; as well as 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather for viewing on Wednesday, December 10 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. The funeral ceremony will start at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel.
