Nina Sue Spilliard's Obituary
Nina Sue Chavis Spilliard, 94 of Mount Dora, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on, May 7, 2025. She was a loving mother, grandmother, GG and sister.
Born in Hartford, Alabama to Otis and Mittie Chavis on November 19, 1930, she was the fourth of ten children. She moved to Florida in 1946 and graduated from Leesburg High School in 1950. She married Randolph Spilliard on October 4, 1954. She worked as a telephone operator for Florida Telephone for seven years and retired from the Lake County School Board, where she worked in food service at Roseborough Elementary for twenty years. She was a member of the Spirit Life Assembly of God in Eustis, Florida and visited shut-ins, nursing homes and assisted living facilities for twenty-six years. She read her Bible daily and enjoyed being with her family and friends. She will be truly missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Pamela (Stanley) Rosier, of Mount Dora, FL, Ronda (Kathy) Spilliard of Leesburg, FL, bonus daughter Janet Brantley of Leesburg, FL and Randy (Warren) Spilliard of Oakdale, PA; granddaughters Harmoni (Ron) Brooks, McClenny, FL, Hayli (Chris) Westhelle, Sanford, FL; great grandchildren, Dylan Westhelle, Payton Westhelle and Lia Brooks; sisters Mattie Ross of Mount Dora, FL, Clarene Minnix of Leesburg, FL, Charlotte Grantham of Eustis, FL and sister-in-law Judy Chavis of Mount Dora, FL, numerous nieces and nephews and Beau Beau.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Randolph "Randy" Spilliard, and grandson Hunter Rosier
A gathering of friends and family with viewing will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 10:00AM - 12:00PM. Funeral Service will begin at 12:00PM following the viewing. Interment will take place following the service at Pine Forest Cemetery in Mount Dora, FL. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to Vitas Hospice.
