Nicholas A. Pugliese's Obituary
Nicholas A. “Nick” Pugliese of Tangerine passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the age of 93. He was born in Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania. Nick proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. After his service he went to work for Archway Cookies and later Pepperidge Farms, retiring in 1977. Nick and his wife, Bernice, moved to Pine Hills, Florida 53 years ago and then relocated to Tangerine 25 years ago. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mount Dora, where he served as an usher and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also served on the Martha Society, assisting in cleaning the church. He previously dedicated time to St. Vincent de Paul through St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, assisting with food distribution. Nick is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife of 66 years, Bernice; sons, Nicholas Pugliese, Jr. (Maria) of Lakeland, Florida and Canada, Salvatore Pugliese (Helen) of Matthews, North Carolina and Robert Pugliese (Nelia) of Orange City, Florida; daughters, Theresa Wyrwal (Jerry) of Ocoee, Florida, Cathleen Scofield (Tanner) of Mount Dora, Florida, Donna Wooland (Jim) of Tallahassee, Florida, Lisa Murray (Brian) of Apopka, Florida and Valerie Vargas (Luis) of Graham, North Carolina; 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
