Myrtle J. Robinson's Obituary
In Loving Memory.....
Myrtle J. (Bryan) Robinson entered into her earthly life on May 10, 1924. Her parents were the late James and Pearl Bryan. She had two sisters who preceded her in death-Elizabeth Mercer & Gladys Carter.
Myrtle was raised in the Catholic Church, by her parents, and accepted the Lord as her personal savior at an early age. She was educated in the DC Public School system.
As a young lady, she worked at the Department of Commerce, where she met the father of her children, the late Ernest J. Robinson. Three of those children (Samuel 1st, Samuel 2nd & Lawanna), one stepson (Leonard)and one great-grandson (Darius) preceded her in death. She also worked at the State Department where she retired after 20 years of service.
Myrtle restored her faith with Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, where she attended for many years. While attending Our Lady, she became a member of the Good Shepherd Ladies Auxiliary #229 Knights of St. John International. She was very active member and loved to attend the meetings, conventions, and other functions. At her 90th Birthday Celebration, she received a plaque from the Auxiliary for her dedicated years of service, and a letter of celebration from former President Barack Obama. She remained faithful to her church attendance until she relocated to Florida with her youngest daughter, Comolieta.
Some of Myrtle's favorite past times/hobbies were spending time with her family on holidays, and birthdays, traveling, bowling, dancing (electric slide), being with the seniors at various senior centers, playing a card game called 7-11 and watching her favorite football team, the Washington Redskins.
