Morton Dickinson Tiley's Obituary
Morton Dickinson Tiley of Tavares passed away on Friday, August 21, 2015 at the age of 94 years. He was born in New London, Connecticut. Morton served his country honorably in the US Army Air Corp during World War II. In 1949 he relocated to south Florida and in 1953 opened Morton Pump & Drilling, Inc. Morton was one of the founders of Ridge Live Steamers, a club that made small scale rideable steam engine trains. At the time of his passing, he was the oldest member. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jeanette Tiley and his son, Mark C. Tiley. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah K. Wallace and her husband, Duane of Plantation, Florida; daughter-in-law, Sherry K. Tiley of Trenton, Florida; companion, Shirley Walters of Tavares; sister, Susannah Latham of Weatherly, Rhode Island; granddaughters, Shana K. Praet and her husband, Jason of Trenton and Beverly C. Ochoa her husband, Julian of Sunrise, Florida and great granddaughter, Paige Carol Praet. Family and friends will gather for viewing on Friday, August 28 from 6:00 -8:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. A funeral ceremony will start at 11:00 am on Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
