Melvin Teston's Obituary
Melvin almost made 90! The few of us who spent time with Melvin in his last years will remember him for his sharp mind and quick wit. He loved spending time watching old westerns and feeding the squirrels and birds who waited for him daily. He made sure to have peanuts and seed for all his critter friends. He used a slingshot for the peanuts to make sure every squirrel got one.
He didn’t like leaving his home and wanted few visitors. If you got him talking, he would tell you about growing up in Orlando in the 40’s and 50’s long before Disney or Interstate 4 were there. He had so many stories! He was an electrical salesman for many years, married 4 times and had 4 children.
Melvin didn’t have much money, but he never missed a month donating to St. Jude’s Hospital, Kids Make a Wish, Special Olympics and other charities for kids.
He was able to take care of himself until the last days, cooking meals and doing simple household chores. He was very independent.
Melvin- we miss you!
