Max Langston Yancey's Obituary
Max Langston Yancey, 92 years young, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. Max was born in Douglas County, Georgia on March 6, 1928 to Wade and Sarah Yancey. Max knew what he wanted to do early in life and that was to serve his Country. He enlisted in Air Force at a early age and made it his life long career. Max was then introduced to his bride, Betty by his cousin and after just 3 1/2 months of "courting" Betty, they were married. With Max in the Air Force, Betty and the growing family would follow Max wherever he was deployed and moving the family every 3 years to make sure that they were all together. Except for his being stationed in Viet Nam and the Philippines, the family was always together. Max is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Betty, Son Mark Yancey, Brother Jack David Yancey, 2 Grandchildren: Anna Kate Smith and Caleb Wade Yancey. Max was preceded in death by his daughter Cynthia who passed on December 2 of this year. Max's place of rest will be in Georgia in private and at a later date.
