Mary Jo Williams' Obituary
Mary Jo Williams, age 84, of Tavares passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012. She was born January 15, 1928 in Daviston, AL and moved to Lake County in 1970 from Washington, D.C. She was a homemaker and at one time owned Brown’s BBQ in Tavares. She was a member of the Union Congregational Church of Tavares, where she was a Diaconate, a member of the Lake County Historical Society, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Red Hat Society of Mt. Dora. She is survived by her daughters, Jo Anne (Bob) Johnson of Yalaha, FL and Jan (John) Campbell of Tavares; sister, Faye Dunaway of Albany, GA; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Obie Brown, Jr. and her second husband, Bill Williams. The family received friends on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 9:30AM until 10:30AM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A Funeral Service followed at 11:00AM at Union Congregational Church, Tavares. Interment followed at Tavares Cemetery.
