Mary Elizabeth Anthony's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Anthony of Tavares, Florida passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the age of 79 years. She was born in Northampton, Massachusetts on October 15, 1936 to the late John Spencer and Kathryn Mae Jones. She moved to the Tavares area in December 1972 from Chesterfield, Massachusetts. She was a homemaker and wonderful wife and mother. Mary was a great cook. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the AmVets Women’s Auxiliary. Prior to her husband passing away, she enjoyed spending time out at the local social clubs singing karaoke. She loved county music. She also enjoyed camping and going shrimping at Oak Hill. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years on February 4, 2005, Charles Leonard Anthony; and two brothers, John Jones and Leslie Jones. She is remembered and will be dearly missed by her daughters, Carla Yeoman of Tavares, Tracy Weed and her husband, Jerry of Tavares and Terry McArdle and her husband, Heath of Grand Island, Florida; sons, Charles “Bud” Anthony, Jr. of Astatula, Florida, Larry Anthony of Oak Hill, Florida and Steven Anthony of Tavares; brothers, Norman Jones of West Springfield, Massachusetts, Donald Jones of Ormond Beach, Florida, Warren Jones of Florence, Massachusetts, Billy Jones of Englewood, Florida and Larry Jones of Leeds, Massachusetts; sisters, Kathryn Matrishon and Carol Mailloux, both of Florence, Massachusetts; grandchildren, BJ, Kennedy, Tony Tonya, Mick, McKenna, Amanda and Amber; and great grandchildren, Charlie, Lainey, Kaitlin, Jacob, Grayson, Ryder, Layla, Darraugh and Ruairi.
