Martha Lu Walker's Obituary
Martha Lu Walker of Tavares, Florida passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the age of 88 years. She was born in Tarentum, Pennsylvania to the late James B. and the late Agnes E. Duncan. As a young lady, Martha met the love of her life, Thomas. They were married on February 27, 1943. She and Tom moved to this area from Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania. Martha was a homemaker. She was Presbyterian by faith. In addition to being a wife, mother and grandmother, she found time to play the organ, enjoying the classic Christian hymns. Martha was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles H. Duncan and Boyd Duncan. She is remembered and will be dearly missed by her husband of 71 years, Thomas; son and daughter-in-law, James and Deborah Walker of Huntsville, Alabama, son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Jo Ann Walker of Inverness, Florida and son and daughter-in-law, David and Cindy Walker of Oviedo, Florida; sister-in-law, Florence Huthmaker of Benton, Arkansas; as well as 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The family invites friends to gather for viewing on Saturday, May 24 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm with a funeral ceremony starting at 1:00 pm, all in the funeral home chapel. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
