Margaret Anne Sands' Obituary
Margaret Anne Sands, age 92, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018. She was born March 13, 1926 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Rueben and Gertrude (Anderson) Barnea. She was a member of The Unity Church in Orlando and the Sunlake Fellowship Church in Sun Lakes Estates. Mrs. Sands sang in her church choir, was a member of the Sweet Adelines for many years and loved Karaeoke. She was a volunteer for Wee Care in Orlando and was an active volunteer for other organizations as well. She had worked at many jobs throughout her life as a school bus driver, post office worker, shoe saleswoman and at the Paper Mill. She enjoyed her work and the people she worked with. She was very active traveling with her husband, Gail, whom she had been married to for 56 years. She loved genealogy, was an avid reader and a wonderful cook. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Gay (Jay) Boehme of Sunlake Estates, Fl; Grandsons, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Boehme of Lawton, Michigan and Ryan (Kelley) Boehme of Portage, Michigan; great grandchildren; Nicholas, William, Katie and Caroline; several nieces and nephews; and very special friend, Meg Wonser of Portage, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gail and Brother Robert Barnea. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on January 11, 2019 at 3:00 PM at the Sunlake Clubhouse at Sunlake Estates, 1045 Great Lakes Blvd., Grand Island, Fl. 32735.
