Marcia Schinski's Obituary
Marcia Schinski, 86, passed away peacefully on February 26th at her home in Tavares,
Florida. She was born on July 10th, 1937, to Ted and Helen Prindle in Elyria, Ohio. She
attended Bowling Green State University, where she met the love of her life, Rich
Schinski. Marcia is survived by her sister, Molly Romp and her family; her children,
Michael Schinski and his wife Tina; PJ Martin and her husband Ross; and her beloved
seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She lived a life full of dedication to her
family, friends, and wider community.
Marcia will be remembered for her generous spirit, quick wit, and outstanding
party-hosting skills. She was a dedicated fourth and fifth grade teacher for three
decades, primarily in the Bay Village, Ohio school system. She enjoyed being outside:
gardening and golfing in the summer and skiing in the winter. Marcia loved any and all
social engagements with her gobs of friends, particularly church, game, and gourmet
groups. She had a gift of making everyone feel welcome and loved. She touched the
lives of many with a commitment to service through PEO, her churches in both Ohio and
Florida, hospice care, The Open Door, and many others. Marcia had a lifetime of beloved
dogs and is leaving behind her sweetest dog yet, Lucy. Her memory will forever be
cherished by her many family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 17th at 12:30 at the First Presbyterian
Church of Mount Dora. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Open Door (115
Citrus Ave, Eustis, FL 32726).
Please join us in celebrating the life of Marcia and the legacy she left behind.
Rest in peace, Marcia. We love you dearly, and you will be deeply missed.
