Marcene Mae Hartman's Obituary
Marcene Mae Blakely Hartman went home to be with the Lord on November 30, 2009. She was born August 8, 1926 and grew up in Bryan, OH. and graduated from Bryan High School in 1945. After graduation she was employed as a switchboard operator for the Aro Corp. On June 1, 1946 she married Ronald E. Hartman at the bride's parent's home. During their 63 years of marriage, Marcene had many titles: Mom, of four children, one girl - Pamela and three boys, Ronald, James, and Michael. She was loving and gentle; Wife, committed and patient, they had several businesses in which she always was a helpmate. They owned Sinclair Service Station and the Hartman Boat and Motor Sales in Napoleon, OH, the Palace Bowling Lanes in Bryan, OH, the Shell Service Station in Montpelier, OH and the Topline Building Company in Bryan, OH. In the mist of raising the children and helping with much of the bookkeeping of the businesses she was also the top Beeline Sales consultant and won a trip to Bermuda. She also worked for the Sears Company for 15 years as a telesales representative. In 1978, Marcene and Ron moved to Naples, FL to manage the Vanderbilt Condos, in 1986 they came back to Bryan, OH to manage the Colonial Manor Motel. In 1988 they moved back to Florida and settled in Lake County were they opened the Hartman Properties, Inc. in Astatula, FL. Marcene was preceded in death by her son, Michael in 2008. She is survived by her loving husband Ronald and her daughter, Pamela Sheets of Tavares, FL; sons, Ronald (Sue) Hartman of Howey-in-the-Hills, FL, James (Donna) Hartman of Santa Barbara, CA and Winter Park, FL; grandchildren, Troy, Tab, Tricia, Elizabeth, Adam, Zachary, Kelsey and Ashley; great grandchildren, Kourtney, Garrett, Hayley and Gavin; siblings, Jean (Willard) Miller of Spalding, MI, Bill (Zelma) Blakely of Bryan, OH, and Patsy (Richard) Thiery of Bryan, OH. She was a loving special soul and will be greatly missed.Friends may call on the family from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2009 at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home with the burial following at Taylor Memorial Cemetery in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL.
