Mabel Tomson's Obituary
Mabel L. Tomson 77, a devoted mother, wife, friend, grandma, and great-grandma, passed away peacefully on January 19th 2025. She was a beloved member of her family and community and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Born in Abbeville Alabama, Mabel dedicated much of her life to her family, creating a warm, welcoming home where everyone was treated like one of her own children. Mabel was an avid softball player in her younger years, and her passion for sports never wavered, she spent countless hours at the ball fields cheering on her three sons and all of her grandchildren.
Mabel worked at Florida Made Doors in Astatula for 25 years and that’s where she later retired from.
She had a deep love for nature and enjoyed spending time fishing, bird watching, and caring for her chickens and other animals. Mabel also loved to bake and sew, creating beautiful things for her loved ones. Her home was always full of warmth, love and visitors where everyone felt like family.
She is survived by three sons: Jack O. Tomson, II, Troy N. Tomson and Arthur R. (Gloria) Tomson; and grandchildren: Jack O. Tomson, III, Tucker N. Tomson, Brandyn Swindle, Travis Tomson, Tyler Tomson, Austin Tomson, Peightyn Tomson, Haleigh Tomson, Katelyn Tabor, and Brandon Tomson; great-grandchildren: Jack, IV, Hank, Lyla, Scarlett, Kinsley, Rylee, Braxton, and Sadie.
A celebration of Mabel’s life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 , with a gathering of friends and family from 10:30AM-11:00AM with a service at 11:00AM at Steverson, Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Home in Tavares, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to (charity or cause, if desired).
Mabel’s love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
