Lowell Maxwell Figert Jr.'s Obituary
Lowell Maxwell Figert, Jr., age 75, of Tavares passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018. He was born February 15, 1943 in Marion, IN to Lowell Maxwell, Sr. and Mamie Rohrer Figert. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after over 30 years of service. He was President of the state of Michigan Rural Carriers Association for many years. In addition to working for the USPS, he was also a farmer and a truck driver. Lowell was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Vietnam War and with the Military Police during the Tet Offensive. Lowell enjoyed his friends, going to new places, reading, fishing, his children and grandchildren, and garage sales. He is survived by his wife, Sally LaPierre Figert of Tavares, FL; children, Jennifer Sandoval of Muskegon, MI, Melissa Rancour of Hillsboro, OR, Tamara McCord of Battle Creek, MI, Jonathan Figert of Lakeview, MI; brother, Robert Figert; nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sons, Thomas and Jonathan (twins); and grandson, Thomas John. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at Lakeside Memory Gardens on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11:00AM.
