Linda Marie Tanner's Obituary
Linda Marie Tanner was born in Nashville, Tennessee on July 14, 1952. Two years later, she moved with her family to Mount Dora. She was the daughter of the late Fred F. Tanner and Marian G. Tanner. Linda went home to be with the Lord on December 10, 2018.
Linda graduated from Mt. Dora High School, and then received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Florida State University. She served as a prayer counselor for over twenty years with the 700 Club in Virginia.
Linda returned to Mount Dora in 2003, where she became primary caregiver for her beloved mother. Linda was able to play piano and organ beautifully. She had the rare gift of being able to read and play complicated musical score, transpose into any key to accommodate a soloist, and play from memory, both secular and inspirational songs. Linda’s music was her personal worship of her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Her music ministry blessed many and she served for over seven years as pianist for her church family at Midway Baptist church in Leesburg, FL.
Linda is survived by two brothers, Larry Tanner (Tanya), Bill Tanner (Anne); one sister, Mary Ann Gidewall (Elmer); and one sister-in-law, Sarena Tanner. She is also survived by thirteen nieces and nephews; cousins; and their families. Linda had many friends and neighbors whom she considered family.
A Memorial Service will be held at Midway Baptist Church on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Midway Baptist Church, 32707 Blossom Lane, Leesburg, FL 34788.
