Linda Brandt's Obituary
Linda (Coffey) Brandt, age 62, of Hayesville, NC was called home by her Savior on Monday, January 30, 2012 in Atlanta, GA after a long struggle with heart problems and Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy type 1. She was born March 22, 1949 in Oak Hill, WV. She grew up in Tavares; graduated from Tavares High School in 1967; named most dependable her senior year; active in sports and other school activities and a cheerleader for the Bulldogs. During her adult years she was involved in church activities; was the volunteer coordinator for Lake County Special Olympics; worked many years in the Lake County school system then retired from Lake Yale Baptist Conference Center. Linda’s long-time dream was to retire to North Carolina; that dream was realized in July 2011. Linda loved her family more than anything; she was a true, faithful, caring, loving, and giving friend, who was an encourager to many and who never met a stranger. God has received a special Angel and she will be missed. Linda would encourage us all to trust Jesus Christ in our lives so we can be reunited in Heaven one day. She is survived by her husband, Frank Brandt; daughter, Shannon (Jim) Pugh; son, Shane Creel; step-son, Daniel Brandt; grandsons, Gavyn and Jadon; sister, Lora Lee (George) Etienne; 6 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Thelma Coffey; brother, Billy Coffey and nephew, Rick Etienne. A Memorial Service was held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11:00AM at Life Community Church, Eustis. Arrangements were entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 E.
