Lettie Mae Madrid's Obituary
Lettie Mae Madrid, age 71, of Leesburg passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011. She was born October 11, 1939 in Trilby, FL and moved to Leesburg in 2002 from Texas. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, AMVETS, Eagles, Moose, and V.F.W. Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Chuck Madrid of Leesburg; sons, Robert H. Wiederhold of Orlando and Walter Mont Wiederhold of Lake Helen; brother, Edward Lamar Merritt of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Ruby Human of Mims and Mary Lou Lovette of Nichols, SC; 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; step-sons, Richard L. Madrid of Euless, TX, Billie C. Madrid of Fayettville, NC, Patrick M. Madrid of Amsterdam, Holland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Alice Merritt and daughter, Carol Berry. The family received friends at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares on Monday, March 7, 2011 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM. A Graveside Service was held on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 10:00AM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org , 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements were entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL 32778.
