Leon E. Mallory's Obituary
Leon E. Mallory of Leesburg, Florida passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the age of 83 years. He was born in Denver, Colorado. He retired from the Hickman Mills C-1 School District in Missouri where he was the High School Administrator and a teacher until his retirement. Leon and his late wife, Audrey moved to this area in August 2004 from Grandview, Missouri. He was a member of the Haines Creek Baptist Church in Leesburg, where he was very active. He served as a Deacon. Leon taught Sunday school at the church and was a moderator. In his free time he loved to play Golf. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey in December 2007 after 54 years of marriage; and his brother, Clinton Mallory. Leon is remembered and will be dearly missed by his daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and John Coats of Longwood, FL; grandchildren, Courtney Hislop and her husband, Chris of Austin, Texas and Tyler Coats and his wife, Michelle of Longwood and two great grandchildren, Ethan and Cole Hislop. Family and friends are invited to gather for viewing on Saturday, February 7 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am with a funeral service starting at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Leon’s final resting place will be Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Haines Creek Baptist Church, 33110 County Road 473, Leesburg, FL 34788. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
