Every once in awhile we are reminded of how blessed that we truly are in life. I am a RN, and I have seen the negative views of others, such as the ladies on the View. I have watched people complain about the ladies' lack of intelligence, along with other negative comments about nursing. However, it is nights like tonight that I am reminded of why I decided to be a nurse. I have taken care of a patient and a family for quite some time now. Recently, unfortunately, I lost my patient, but he gave me a gift.....the gift of a new respect for myself, and gave back to me what I choose to give to my patients, love and compassion. I am honored to have been a part of his life, and to have been a part of the family's life. So even as I said my final goodbye tonight,....I feel blessed that he gave me friends, family, smiles, laughter, tears, and great memories. Thank you, my patient, my friend, for all you have given me.....I will never forget you. I love you and always will........
