Kenneth R. "Ken" Hanes' Obituary
Kenneth R. Hanes of Tavares, Florida passed away on Monday, December 22, 2014 at the age of 91 years. Ken was born in Sunderlinville, Pennsylvania. At the age of 19 he enlisted in the US Marine Corp. He served in the South Pacific during World War II. Ken moved to Tavares in 1971 from York, PA. He was a volunteer fireman for the Bassville Fire Department for 22 years. Ken is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife of 29 years, Inez; sons, Larry (Millie) Hanes of Ocala, FL, Bruce (Sandy) Hanes of Australia, LeRoy (Judy) Hanes of New York and Lee Hanes of Pennsylvania and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister. Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, December 28 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. A graveside ceremony will start at 10:30 am Monday at the Adamsville Cemetery. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
